CLUB HUNTS

Club Hunts

During the months from April thru November our club tries to hold a hunt on a site spacious enough to comfortably accommodate at least 20 members. This number represents the highest member turnout we’ve ever had. A group hunt is a great way to bond closer as a club and to turn a traditionally solitary activity into a group experience. It’s also a good way for beginners to detect side by side with veterans and learn correct techniques involving target identification and proper recovery methods.

Good places we’ve found to hold these hunts have been ski areas, campgrounds, scout camps, fairgrounds, fish & game clubs and even city parks.
Although the concept is sound, we’ve found that coming up with new and appropriate sites rather difficult. Living in a “sue happy society” property owners are reluctant to allow hunts on their land. To alleviate responsibility, legal land use agreements occasionally need to be drawn up and signed before a hunt takes place. Some clubs have found it necessary to carry liability assurance.
