The EARTH Metal Detecting Club of Central NY meets at 6:30pm on the last Monday of the month at the Dunham Public Library, 76 Main Street, Whitesboro, NY. There are no meetings in December or January. When our normal meeting coincides with Memorial Day it will either be moved up or back one week.
There are usually between 25 and 35 members and guests in attendance. Our meetings last around 2 hours. Members are encouraged to bring and display items they have recovered in the past month. Our club also conducts a seasonal competition where points are accumulated in 4 different categories, Best Coin; Best Jewelry; Best Other, and a mystery category which changes at every meeting. The member with the most points at the end of the season is awarded Treasure Hunter of the year.
Other parts of the meeting are guests speakers, raffles, show & tell, story time, refreshments and a generous 20 minutes to mingle with one another halfway through. Guests are always welcomed to attend.
